Lorraine was a cheerful woman who had a spontaneous wit. She briefly worked at Schulzetenberg Hardware in Melrose where she said she “met Ed over the nuts and bolts.” They married in 1948. Her life was simple and joyous from being a wife, a mother, and a friend. She was not a seeker of adventures or experiences as she felt she had everything she needed “right here” meaning the essence of her life was her spouse, her children, her community, and her community of friends. Her Catholic faith was also central to her life but was more private. It was attending Mass on Sunday, a candle lit before the storm, a rosary said while washing a load of whites. Lorraine always stuck to the basics, to the nuts and bolts. She was a good woman. She lived a good life. She is already missed.
