Notice is hereby given that sealed Bids will be received by the City Administrator until 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at City Hall, City of Melrose, 225 East 1st Street NE, Melrose, MN 56352-0216, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for the furnishing of all labor and material for the construction of 2017 Utility Extension. Major quantities for the Work include:
870 LF 15-Inch PVC SDR 26
700 LF Directional Drill 12-Inch HDPE Water Main300 LF Directional Drill 18-Inch HDPE Casing Pipe with 23-Inch HDPE Carrier Pipe
2,000 LF 12-Inch Water Main PVC1.7 ACRE Seeding
Bids shall be on the form provided for that purpose and according to the Bidding Requirements prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH®) dated March 13, 2017.

Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
A Contractor responding to these Bidding Documents must submit to the City/Owner a signed statement under oath by an owner or officer verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria in Minnesota Statutes, section 16C.285, subdivision 3.
This Work shall be subject to minimum wages and labor standards in accordance with the State of Minnesota.
Bids shall be directed to the City Administrator, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper, “BID FOR 2017 UTILITY EXTENSION, MELROSE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION, MELROSE, MN MEPUC 139499.”
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the Owner.

ORDINANCE NO. 3-16-2017
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 1989-1-A AS AMENDED,
ADOPTED BY REFERENCE AS CHAPTER 153
OF THE MELROSE CITY CODE
TO REVISE ACCESSORY STRUCTURE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MELROSE, ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 604.08.02 of Melrose Zoning Ordinance No. 1989-1-A, as amended, and adopted by reference as Chapter 153 of the Melrose City Code, is hereby repealed, and in lieu of said paragraph is substituted by the following:
Section 604.08.2 Accessory structures.
Accessory structures shall not exceed 2,000 square feet (including total square footage of all detached structures). Any accessory structures with a door more than 6 feet in width facing an alley must be set back 20’ from alley right-of-way.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and publication.
ADOPTED on the 16th day of March, 2017, by the City Council of the City of Melrose.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PRELIMINARY/ FINAL PLAT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, The Melrose Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Melrose City Center for the purpose of giving consideration to approval of the Preliminary/Final Plat of Shaggy’s Towing that is being developed West of the City. The property is proposed to be platted to facilitate further industrial development.
The Property is described as follows:
That part of the West Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 34, Township 126, Range 33, described as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of said West Half of the Northwest Quarter; thence North 00 degrees 18 minutes 54 seconds West , assuming bearing, along the west line of said West Half of the Northwest Quarter, 986.10 feet, to the intersection of a line drawn 500.00 feet northerly of, as measured at a right angle to and parallel with, the centerline of the Wobegon Trail, formerly known as the Burlington Northern Railroad; thence South 61 degrees 33 minutes 18 seconds East, parallel to said Trail, 653.02 feet, to the point of beginning of the tract of land to be described; thence continue South 61 degrees 33 minutes 18 seconds East, parallel to said Trail , 246.98 feet; thence North 44 degrees 41 minutes 06 seconds East, 265.57 feet, to the southerly right of way line of Riverside Avenue NW; thence North 62 degrees 20 minutes 37 seconds West, along said southerly right of way line, 325.93 feet; thence South 27 degrees 22 minutes 50 seconds West, 250.53 feet, to the point of beginning.

The Meire Grove Cooperative will have their Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Meire Grove City Hall starting at 1:30 p.m. There will be an election of two (2) Directors.

The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor. SEALED BIDS FOR PAVING OF 305TH AVENUE IN MILLWOOD TOWNSHIP
The Millwood Town Board of Supervisors is requesting sealed bids for the paving of 305th Avenue from 421st Street to its terminus approximately 1.5 miles south of 421st Street located in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minnesota.
Bid specifications and conditions may be obtained from the Town Clerk, Joe Wiechman by calling 320-249-1242.
Sealed bids must be received by the Township at 28496 County Road 17 Freeport, MN 56331 by 5 p.m. on April 12, 2017.
Bids must be accompanied with a five percent (5%) bid bond.
